Auto Shipping FAQs & Advice

Shipping a vehicle to a new state or from coast-to-coast can be a slightly overwhelming process. Is there a limitation on the number of vehicles that you can ship? Does your vehicle need to be in working condition? Can you pack everything (including the kitchen sink) into the back? These are the types of questions that might be running through your head. Fortunately, we have gathered together a few of the most frequently asked questions and turned them into an easy to reference shipping guide.

Don't Stress ... Just Ask
Below you will find the most frequently asked auto transportation questions. If you don't see your question, don't worry; simply contact us or fill out the customized auto transport quote form to discover an easier way to ship your vehicle.

  1. What type of vehicle can I ship?
The short answer is "any." The longer answer is that shipping your vehicle will depend on your chosen transportation method, as well as availability. Cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, motorcycles, and RVs can all be safely transported throughout the continental U.S.
  2. Can I book a last minute transport?
As with any travel arrangements, the sooner you can book your vehicle transport the better. While we can handle last-minute requests, we do require at least 24 hours. Scheduling your vehicle transport two weeks or more in advance will make it easier for us to make shipping arrangements that perfectly align with your busy schedule.
  3. Do I need to prepare my vehicle for transport?
Yes. There are a few key steps that you should take to properly prepare your vehicle. The key steps include: completing a maintenance check, removing any personal belongings, and making copies of all of your vehicle's important documents.
  4. Do I need insurance?
While we offer insurance on our auto transportation services, it is advisable that you retain insurance on your vehicle. Double-check with your insurance provider to ensure that your policy covers your vehicle during transportation.
  5. Does my vehicle need to work?
While working condition is the ideal choice, we can transport vehicles that aren't running. Contact us to learn more about shipping a vehicle that isn't in working condition.
  6. Do I need to be there when you pick up or drop off my vehicle?
Yes. You or a representative will need to be there to sign paperwork and sign-off on the vehicle condition inspection when it is picked up and dropped off at its destination.
  7. How do I pay for auto transportation services?
Payment is accepted in a wide variety of formats including: money order, credit card, cashier's or bank check, or PayPal.
  8. Can I track the shipment of my vehicle?
Simply give us a call or email customer support to receive an update on the transportation status of your vehicle.
  9. What is Door-to-Door service?
Door-to-door service means that we will pick up your vehicle at your specified location. It is important to note that, depending on your location, your vehicle might be picked up in a flatbed and then transferred to a larger auto transport truck for its out of state trip.
  10. What is Terminal-to-Terminal service?
Terminal-to-terminal service means that you will drop off your vehicle at our nearest terminal and pick up your vehicle from the terminal nearest to your final destination. We invite you to fill out the below custom quote form to discover whether you prefer to ship your vehicle via our door-to-door or terminal-to-terminal service.
